Coronado Brewing Company- Coronado
Coronado Brewing in Coronado is always a treat to visit. It’s such a fine establishment. Their quality beers and great food makes them popular with locals and visitors, alike, and so it’s usually crowded.
I went in at 11:00 a.m. to do some tasting and the place was already packed. Fortunately, there were a few open bar stools and I settled in at the bar.
I started with Coronado’s Stingray Point IPA, rated below, which was tasty, but not as complex as I like. So, staff suggested a taster of Biggie Small, which is a light IPA. Passing on that brew, I ordered a Buster 4 IPA, which was very nice. It’s a little lighter than the Stingray Point, but a nice IPA. It’s ABV is 6.5% while Stingray Point is 6.9%.
Stingray Point IPA tasting notes:
Clear golden color, perfect white head, and sticky lacing. Classic citrus and floral aromas. Firm bodied with a clean maltiness, fruitiness, and a very assertive hop character. A hint of honey makes it pleasant. Crisp finish with a classic hop bite. It’s the sort of IPA I like to drink during happy hour, but noon will do.
This brew would pair well with carrot cake!
