About: I was lucky enough to meet the Pure Project Brewing team last October when the tasting room and brew house were still under construction. As we navigated our way around electricians, painters, and plumbers working on the new space, the team members shared with me their vision and dreams for the future brewery.
One of their dreams was to brew innovative beers with organic, tropical ingredients like coconut, hibiscus, coffee, and vanilla. Another was to trick out the tasting room with sustainable materials, making a welcoming place for the community to drink fresh beer. You can read more about that visit here.
That vision and those dreams came to fruition as evidenced by my visit yesterday to Pure Project’s Grand Opening. It was exciting to watch the team proudly pouring their new beers for thirsty fans of artisanal beers. Each of them was grinning ear to ear. Their dreams came true.
What I Drank: I ordered a taster flight of five beers: Sensei (5.2% ABV), a Kölsch-style beer made with rice; Road Less Traveled (7.0% ABV), a 100% Brett IPA; Grass Fed (6.6% ABV), a West Coast-style IPA; No Reservations (9.3% ABV), a Double IPA made with agave; and Mönch (10.8% ABV), a Quadrupel made with coconut. All five beers were clean and refreshing. My favorite was the Quadrupel. Truly innovative, and definitely delicious.
What I Ate: Salt + Lime‘s food truck was serving their “modern Mexican cuisine” out in front of the brewery. I had a Taco Al Pastor (chicken al pastor, chicharrón de queso, pineapple habanero, pickled onions, and guacamole), and a Quesitaco (marinated steak, chicharrón de queso, chipotle sauce, avocado, and pickled onions. Both tacos were succulent and full of flavor, pairing perfectly with the beers I drank.
Likes: The tasting room is great. From the reclaimed wood walls accented with tropical plants, to the custom wood tables and bar stools, to the cool reggae music playing in the background, the vibe is pura vida.
Service is exceptional from the Pure Project team. I love the big screen showing videos of nature. The brewery’s tasting room is family and dog friendly. Check out the beautifully designed, pristine restroom.
The Verdict: A beautiful, new brewery with well-made, delicious craft beers. Pure Project Brewing is one of the most exciting brewery openings I have been to, recently. Very highly recommended.Share This:
