Culture Brewing Company- Solana Beach
Culture Brewing is located in Solana Beach on cool and hip Cedros Avenue. It’s an easy walk from Solana Station where Amtrak and Coaster trains stop regularly throughout the day.
Fletcher Cove Beach Park and the ocean is two blocks west from the brewery. South Cedros Avenue with its galleries, boutiques, and specialty shops are just outside the front door. I like the tasting room at Culture because it has art on the walls, and like other small breweries in San Diego County, the bright tanks are in the room. When I visited I tasted a flight of four of their beers: Belgian Saison, Mosaic IPA, Keyhole IPA, and Milk Stout (nitro).
Although the beers I tasted were all nice, for me the Keyhole IPA really stood out. Made with Mosaic hops and a huge amount of grapefruit peels, the big citrus aromas and flavors were amazing. Served in a snifter glass, the floral and grapefruit aromas were strong, but nicely presented.
This IPA had a golden color, white head, and find lacing. The mouth feel was smooth, good carbonation levels, and the finish was clean with medium bitterness. Overall, a classic American IPA, made West Coast style by the grapefruit adjunct. Very cool and refreshing IPA. And the service was friendly and accommodating. As for what food to pair with this beer, like other IPAs, Asian and spicy dishes would work well with it.Share This:
