Oceanside Brewing Company- Oceanside, CA
Where: 312 Via Del Norte | Oceanside, California
Cost: Pints $4.00-$6.00
About: Opened in April, 2016, Oceanside Brewing is located in a light industrial park just south of Highway 76 and Oceanside Municipal Airport. Though the front entrance to the brewery is plain and nondescript, inside a beautiful tasting room tastefully decorated with repurposed wood, hanging plants, and cool artwork, awaits.
The vibe of the brewery is casual and relaxed. There is a big outdoor patio behind the tasting room that is perfect for dogs and kids. They serve 18 different ales and lagers that are brewed on a beautiful 3.5-barrel system. The shiny small-batch system is showcased in one corner of the tasting room for all to admire.
What I Drank: It was hot on the day I visited the brewery, and I was thirsty for a light, refreshing beer. I was also in the mood for a beer style unique to San Diego County, so I ordered Spirituel (5.4% ABV), a Belgian Witte ale.
Rust gold in color, Spirituel is cloudy (due to suspended yeast and wheat proteins) with a cheery, white head. It has a pleasant orange-fruit and coriander aroma. The flavor is a juicy, sweet orange, biscuity, with a slightly bitter, lemony bite. Mouthfeel is light, carbonation is lively, and the finish is crisp, clean, and refreshing. Overall, this beer is flavorful and balanced. Perfect for hot summer days and nights.
Likes: Diverse selection of beer styles, many with creative infusions. Friendly, comfortable, casual, relaxed atmosphere. Good customer service. Clean restroom.
The Verdict: A beautiful small-batch brewery in Oceanside, California, with a diverse selection of interesting beers. It is easy to get to and a great place to drink fresh craft beer in a fun place.Share This:
