Iron Fist Brewing’s New Tasting Room- San Diego (Barrio Logan)

I stopped by for a beer and art at Iron Fist Brewing Company‘s new tasting room in San Diego the other day. It’s located on the west side of the Mercado del Barrio building in the heart of Barrio Logan. Whoever decided to open a satellite tasting room here is brilliant.

Barrio Logan is being re-developed. New businesses are moving in and a lot of local artists are opening studios and galleries here. Because craft beer is an art form, it belongs here. Have you been to Border X Brewing‘s tasting room to see how they put the two together?

Iron Fist’s cool front patio has comfortable lounge-like seating. There’s a view of the San Diego-Coronado Bridge and the Barrio’s new development. With festival lights strung overhead, it’s a nice spot to enjoy a brew at sunset.

Not only is the tasting room brand new and beautiful, it’s dog friendly and full of friendly folks. I like the quartz cooling strip that runs down the top of the bar. Put your glass there to keep your beer’s temperature stable.

Iron Fist core beers as well as their specialty beers are on tap. They also sell their bottled beers. Prices are reasonable.

The interior design of the tasting room is modern and interesting artwork hangs on the walls. The open-space design is conducive to quaffing craft beers from the brewery up north in Vista. If you like Iron Fist beers, you’ll love drinking them at the new tasting room.

Iron Fist tasting room is hosting an art show this week featuring work by Armando Nuñez, one of the original muralists of Chicano Park as well as the designer of the new Barrio Logan sign.
