BNS Brewing & Distilling Company- Santee
Camaraderie between craft breweries in San Diego County is obvious. With every visit to a local brewery I always hear praise for other breweries’ beers while I am there, and I always come away with recommendations to visit another brewery. A case in point: while visiting URBN St. Brewing the other day it was suggested by staff that I also go to see the BNS Brewery a few miles away. I had no idea that BNS existed, let alone it was a short drive away. Eventually I would have found out about BNS during my quest, but the folks at URBN St. were the ones who turned me on to it. I’m so glad they did.
BNS Brewing & Distilling Company is a beautifully-designed brewery and they make good beers. I had a flight of four tasters: “Revolver” IPA, “Lawmaker” IPA, “Ma Deuce” DIPA, and “Gatling Gun” Imperial Stout, and they were all well made for their styles. Since home brewing a stout last week my palate has been craving stouts, so I focused on the Imperial Stout, 9% ABV. Here is my description:
Deep, dark brown color, tan head; malty, mocha aromas and flavors; creamy body; chocolatey; hint of heat; delightful, bittersweet finish.
Suggested food pairings: Gorgonzola or blue cheese, sautéd mushroom soup, venison, tiramisu or double chocolate brownies.Share This:
