Pariah Brewing Company- San Diego (North Park)
Name: Pariah Brewing Company
Where: 3052 El Cajon Boulevard, Suite B | San Diego, California
Cost: Taster $2.50 | Full Pour $6.00-$7.00
About: Pariah Brewing is one of three independent breweries who opened recently at H.G. Fenton‘s newest Brewery Igniter project in North Park. Co-owner/head brewer Brian Mitchell and his team are brewing on a 10-barrel Premier Stainless System and serving innovative beers in an adjoining tasting room they tricked out themselves.
The tasting room flaunts an open ceiling with a bright skylight, Edison bulb light fixtures, a deer antler chandelier, and two poured-in-place cement bar tops. Natural light and fresh air pour into the space through big roll-up doors at both ends of the suite.
Although the room is small, there is plenty of seating and the vibe is casual, friendly, and relaxed. A yellow water dish for dogs sits by the front door.
What I Drank: I drank three tasters during my visit: Off White Wit, a Belgian-style Witbier (5.4% ABV/15 IBU); Erotic City, a flavorful Ale (9.0% ABV/20 IBU); and Uni Stout (5.4% ABV/20 IBU).
All three beers are well made and delicious. However, Uni Stout was amazing in addition to being delicious. I think this brew is the finest beer I have tasted in San Diego County.
If you like South Park Brewing‘s Scripps Pier Oyster Stout, you will love Uni Stout. This beer is brewed with sea urchin roe sourced fresh from Catalina Offshore Products here in San Diego. Also in the brew is lactose sugar and sea salt. Uni Stout is served on nitro.
Likes: Delicious, brewery-fresh beers with unique ingredients. Friendly, hip vibe. Excellent, professional service. Clean restroom. Private parking right out front.
The Verdict: A beautiful new brewery with excellent beers that are not the norm. Highly recommended.
